Lisa Dearden is RVAg’s Founder and first Executive Director. (she is currently on the BOD of RVAg). With 19 years of farmers market management experience, she leads the team and oversees management of the organizations four area farmers markets. Lisa also owns and operates the Chiknegg Incubator Kitchen and enjoys consulting and educating food entrepreneurs and farmers market vendors about food safety. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and friends, kids and grand kids, and especially loves her two silly Fox Red Labs, Lord Ludwig and Sir Humphrey.
Kaz Mock manages the Powhatan Village Farmers Market. She also serves as RVAg’s Operational Manager. Her background in social work and fitness led to apassion for prevention and the transformation of her property in Powhatan into a small scale farm. She appreciates the symbiotic relationship of her crops, bees, and chickens and the joy, knowledge and wonder it brings to her young daughter. She’s a part of RVAg because she loves seeing the immeasurable benefits of directly connecting local hardworking farmers with the community.
Amy Fowler is our Chef at the Market Program Coordinator. Amy is passionate about food, and she loves working with chefs and farmers to share delicious recipes using seasonal produce. The highlight of her day is when a customer tries a recipe at a Chef Demo and discovers they like a new veggie. Manakin Market has been her favorite farmers market for years because the setting is a perfect blend of farmers, friends and food.
Theresa Burks is our Accounts Manager and Office Manager. Theresa keeps everyone straight behind the scenes and at the market, and she also keeps our books. Theresa lives in Goochland and is an avid animal lover. You might find her rescuing some needy dog or cat, or with her Australian Blue Healer “Walter” or her Stinkin Cute lil Mutt “Stella Rose”, or out by the Chiknegg Incubator Kitchen feeding one of the many donkeys that guard the cattle there.
