

Lisa Dearden is RVAgs Executive Director. With 15 years of farmers market management experience, she leads the team and oversees management of the organizations four area farmers markets. Lisa also owns and operates the Chiknegg Incubator Kitchen and enjoys consulting and educating food entrepreneurs and farmers market vendors about food safety. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and friends, kids and grand kids, and especially loves her two silly Fox Red Labs, Lord Ludwig and Sir Humprey.
Kim Usry Fralin is Manakin Market’s Market Manager, is also the Market Manager at the Powhatan Village Farmers Market, and assists with our other markets as needed. Kim is a Richmond Virginia native. In additional to managing farmers markets, she is the owner of a rainwater harvesting company, She has an aversion to shoes with laces, which explains her embarrassingly large boot collection. Loves her dogs, relaxing, cooking, traveling, gardening and beekeeping…in that order.

Amy Fowler is our Chef at the Market Program Coordinator. Amy is passionate about food, and she loves working with chefs and farmers to share delicious recipes using seasonal produce. The highlight of her day is when a customer tries a recipe at a Chef Demo and discovers they like a new veggie. Manakin Market has been her favorite farmers market for years because the setting is a perfect blend of farmers, friends and food.

Theresa Burks is our Accounts Manager and Market Assistant. Theresa keeps everyone straight behind the scenes and at the market, and she also keeps our books. Theresa lives on an alpaca farm in Goochland and is an avid animal lover. You might find her rescuing some needy dog or cat, or with her Australian Blue Healer “Blue” out by the Chiknegg Incubator Kitchen feeding one of the many donkeys that guard the cattle there.

Katie Shedden is our Social Media Marketing Specialist. Katie grew up on an alpaca farm in Goochland, Virginia where she first discovered her interest in agriculture and ethical modes of food production. She graduated in May of 2018 with her Master’s degree in Environmental Advocacy from James Madison University and moved to Richmond, Virginia shortly thereafter. In her free time, Katie enjoys watching documentaries, trying out new foods and drinks around town, and taking copious pictures of her pets.

Jennifer Hynson is one of RVAg’s Market Managers. She grew up on a farm in Virginia and has a strong appreciation for sustainable agriculture and farming. She enjoys working with all of our farmers and artisan vendors and is passionate about animal rescue. You can find her working part-time at a busy cidery in RVA, checking out all the fun RVA eateries, or spending time with her rescue pooch on her time off.
