Susie Haas
Executive Director, RVAgriculture
Susie Haas is a mother and grandmother, nature lover and avid gardener. Her passion and focus is grounded in development and nurturing of sustainable community systems. Susie believes our local community is a microcosm and model for a resilient and sustainable world. The health and wholeness of each of us, individually and collectively, contributes to healthy people, families and communities locally and worldwide– and that building strong bonds amongst ourselves locally and supporting our local farming community is critical for our future success and that of our children and their children.
Susie served in several community volunteer roles since the age of 13; including the American Red Cross, Henrico Doctor’s Hospital, Bedford County Soil and Water Conservation District, Chickahominy Watershed Alliance, Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay, Va Housing and Environment Network, Richmond Home Builders Association, Urban Land Institute, Resiliency Virginia, Chesapeake Bay Foundation, acted as assistant to the executive director of the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay, development director and fundraiser for Equal Justice America non-profit organization, senior environmental planner for Va. state government Chesapeake Bay Local Assistance Department, community development specialist for KW Poore Consulting, owned and operated two retail businesses and served as commercial and residential property sales and investment specialist for the past 20 years, with 15 working at Joyner Fine Properties and Joyner Commercial Real Estate, while raising her youngest child; Channing.
Susie holds a bachelor of science degree from VCU Center for Environmental Studies, master of urban and regional planning and policy studies degree from Va. Polytechnic Institute; specializing in sustainable community systems, is a fellow of UVA Institute for Environmental Negotiation: Va. Natural Resources Leadership Institute and Goochland Leadership Enterprise. She holds certifications and designations for permaculture design, sustainable urban farm management, high performance home design and general mediation.
Kaz Mock
Operations Director & Market Manager, RVAgriculture
Kaz Mock is the Operations Director and Market Manager for the manages the Powhatan Village farmers market. Her background in social work and fitness led to a passion for prevention and the transformation of her property in Powhatan into a small-scale farm. She appreciates the symbiotic relationship of her crops, bees, and chickens and the joy, knowledge and wonder it brings to her young daughter. She’s a part of RVAg because she loves seeing the immeasurable benefits of directly connecting local hardworking farmers with the community.
Amy Fowler
Chef at the Market Program Coordinator, RVAgriculture
Amy is passionate about food, and she loves working with chefs and farmers to share delicious recipes using seasonal produce. The highlight of her day is when a customer tries a recipe at a Chef Demo and discovers they like a new veggie. Manakin Market has been her favorite farmers market for years because the setting is a perfect blend of farmers, friends and food.
Roseann Walling
Market Manager for the Farmers Market at Urban Farmhouse-Midlothian
Roseann has been involved with event planning for several years, and most recently she was employed by the Maymont Foundation, where she was an Events Coordinator. She was also the chairperson for one of Maymont’s signature events, the Herbs Galore & More festival which hosted 50-60 vendors each year and had an attendance of several thousand guests.
Roseann is a native of Ohio, but relocated to Richmond in 1997 when her husband’s career brought them to the area. Roseann completed the Virginia Master Gardener program in 2005 and when she is not volunteering for Master Gardener events, she can be found in her garden schlepping bags of mulch!
Frauke Bruns
Market Manager for the OntheSquareVA Market in downtown Richmond
Frauke was born and raised in Northern Germany close to the border of The Netherlands. She is a pharmacist by education and started her second career 8 years ago with her partner on pig farming in Orange County Virginia. The farm’s mission is to farm sustainably and use local partners to support the neighborhood. Their heritage breeds pigs are living in the woods and eat what they find, supplemented with mash and spent grain from the neighborhood distillery and brewery. Frauke’s farm is Animal Welfare approved by A Greenerworld. Her products are marketed under Porkstork.
Adrian Chapman
Market Manager for the Manakin Farmers Market
Adrian Chapman is a Richmond native who is passionate about connecting with others through her love of culinary arts and creative offerings. She is at home in nature and a true lover of the earth. She is a wife and a proud mother of two amazing children. Adrian’s infectious positivity and warm energy are undeniable. She has never met a stranger. In her downtime, you can find her dancing at a concert, playing in the garden barefoot or hopping in the car on a whim to her next adventure.
Grace Maguire
Grace was born and raised in Richmond. She has had various experiences in her young professional career, mainly in politics, but now is pursuing her Masters in Divinity and Public Theology. She looks forward to being a part of the local farmers market culture again and believes that everyone deserves access to quality produce. During her free time, Grace enjoys exploring Virginia with her two Boykin Spaniels!
Gianna Stanley
Market Manager for the Farmers Market at Tavern 19
Gianna is a private chef, nutritionist, food writer and photographer. She is also the co-founder of Social Club RVA. Prior to moving to Richmond in 2020, Gianna was a cook at Blue Hill NY. She is passionate about all things food, especially ethical and sustainable food sourcing practices. Gianna is excited to be joining the RVAg team!!
