For the sixth year in a row, Manakin Market will be offering our Annual E-Cycling/Recycling Day at the market, sponsored by Four Season Recycling & Trading Company. Four Season Recycling & Trading will have Rain Barrels and Compost Bins, and we will be offering Electronics Recycling and Document Shredding.
Acceptable items include:
Televisions*, computers (monitors, computer accessories, etc.), printers, scanners, copiers, fax machines, telephones, cell phones, VCR’s, camcorders, stereos, microwaves and more. Anything with a plug!
A $10.00 fee is charged to recycle all televisions, but other electronic devices will be collected at no charge. Payment is accepted in cash or by check.
EXCEPTIONS: Refrigerators, Dehumidifiers, Air Conditioners, CFLs NOT ACCEPTED!
Document Shredding: Secure document shredding is available. Paper clips and staples do not have to be removed, but plastic binding must be removed.
Denise Ritchie will have a booth for CVWMA (Central Virginia Waste Management Authority). As CVWMA’s Recycling Education and Outreach Specialist, Denise provides free educational programs for children in preschools, elementary schools, and summer camps.
CVWMA’s booth will feature fun kid’s crafts using recycled water bottles. There will be give-away items such as Frisbees, stickers, bookmarks, and pencils (made from recycled materials).
