After releasing steam, unlock pressure cooker, drain beans and return to pot, adding 4 cups fresh water or stock and any desired seasonings.
Seal pressure cooker and place over high heat to boil.

Once steam starts to escape, using a kitchen timer, pressure cook for at least 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, slowly lower heat until very little steam is heard.
Manually release pressure, using valve, making sure not to have fingers or hand over steam.
